Beach Fun

The beach was just a short walk from the Ironman transition area which worked out perfectly. We were able to cool off and entertain the children.

The kids had so much fun at the beach. They loved playing in the sand.
Look at Emme's mischievous grin! She's adorable!

Alexa enjoyed swimming in the shallow part of the lake. Gavin would only wade in a little bit. He told me he saw a squid so he didn't want to get in!

Getting sand EVERYWHERE!

It was so hot and sunny that I was paranoid about my little redheads with such fair skin getting burned. I kept reapplying the sunscreen and trying to keep their hats on (which is almost impossible for toddlers). Guess what? The only one that got burned was me.

Kara got to meet Bowen for the first time. We had to keep him in the shade at all times.

I brought poster paper and markers so that we could design signs to support Matt, Travis, and Billy as they finished the triathlon. It didn't work out so well because Tysen opened all the markers, wrote in the sand with them, and then he decided to eat the blue one!

Getting dirty and having fun

It was so wonderful spending time with Kara and her family. I can't believe it's been a year since they moved away from Columbus. We miss them all so much! Luckily we have plans to see them next month and we are all looking forward to it.

That's about as far as Gavin would go so the squid wouldn't get him.

Emme and Alexa are best buds

After the long day at Ironman/beach, the girls are still smiling while we wait for our food at Panera. Emme is holding her new horse that Alexa gave her for her birthday. Emme just turned 4 years old last month.

Good memories, good life

The boys are starting to get impatient as the adults talk about the days events. Tysen is trying to beat up on his big brother, Gavin.
