5/15/2010 Christina and Eric's Wedding

Matthew's sister, Christina, got married last weekend. We were so happy to be there for it and honored that they asked Alexa to be their flower girl and Gavin to be their ring bearer. Alexa and Gavin were definitely adorable, but I was embarrassed by their behavior. Unfortunately by the time the wedding started, they were both hungry and tired. They were both crying when it was their turn to walk down the aisle so I had to walk with them, carrying Gavin and nearly dragging Alexa because she refused to walk. Luckily the spotlight was on the bride and groom and they had a beautiful day and wedding.

Alexa loved the bubbles and bird seed.

Alexa wanted to take her flower girl dress off immediately after the wedding because she said it was too tight.

Gavin loves bubbles, too!

Gavin's first corn on the cob!

First, he licked all the butter off!

Then, he watched Alexa eating hers and he figured out what to do! He loved it.

He played with it, too, of course.

Alexa's a pro.

5/14/2010

We traveled to Iowa and Nebraska last weekend. It was so wonderful to see our families!

Alexa and Gavin playing with toys at Grandpa and Grandma McGrew's house.

He's a happy boy!

We spent some time in the backyard enjoying the beautiful weather.

Alexa loved feeding the goldfish! She named them all "Nemo."

We had a great weekend and I have lots more photos to post later!

Alexa had her very first dentist appointment this afternoon. I was so proud of her. She was on her best behavior and she followed all their directions. When we first went in the room, she got a little nervous and didn't want to sit in the chair. So I ended up sitting in the chair and she sat on my lap while she got her teeth cleaned. Afterwards, she got to pick out a toy from the treasure chest and the dentist even made her the balloon animal pictured above. The staff all thought she was absolutely adorable and she was very happy when we left. And mommy was happy because she didn't have any cavities!

5/08/2010 Alexa and Gavin's First Camping Trip

Daddy rode his bike 113 miles today for TOSRV (Tour of the Scioto River Valley)! He started in Columbus and rode to Portsmouth where we met him.
(Alexa is wearing Daddy's biking sunglasses!)

Alexa and Gavin playing on the playground while Daddy got a massage.

Alexa is helping Daddy put up our tent. Those tents in the background are bikers, too.

It was so windy that Alexa had to sit on our tarp to keep it from blowing away.

Finally, shelter!

The kids think our tent is pretty cool. They like looking out the window.

Alexa's giving her brother a kiss. She loves him so much!

Alexa was excited to hold our flashlight on the way back to the tent after supper.

It was a very chilly night. Alexa was the first asleep and she slept soundly all night. Gavin had a hard time getting to sleep. Although he was extremely tired, he just kept crying and wouldn't lay down. I think he was trying to say, "Take me to my crib!"

This was just too cute.

Donuts for breakfast!
