TOSRV 2015

Matt and I participated in TOSRV this year. On Saturday, Matt biked 108 miles from Columbus to Portsmouth. I packed up the van with our camping gear, 5 kids, 1 dog, and my bike and gear. We drove down to Portsmouth to meet Matt at the end of his long ride. We set up our campsite and got Bob Evans carry out for supper. We camped overnight and then early the next morning, I met a group of friends (they stayed at Holiday Inn) and we biked back to Columbus. Matt had to pack up our campsite and unfortunately found our van wouldn't start- dead battery. Luckily AAA came pretty quickly and they were able to drive home.
Enjoying our picnic supper (if you zoom, you can see Erika in her pack 'n play inside the tent)

Camping with kids is so fun! They were exhausted, Gabbi included.
Long, hot ride back to Columbus

I'm glad my friend, Lynne, didn't wreck while taking this selfie and riding her bike.

Make the world a better place

My Girl Scout troop had a meeting on Saturday morning. We discussed how litter can harm animals and wildlife. Then we went on a short walk in my neighborhood to pick up trash. The girls really got excited about this. I was so proud of them. They were shouting out when they found trash and filling their buckets quickly.

I was happy she asked for help retrieving that plastic bag. Luckily our girls stayed dry and mostly clean.
Proudly showing off all the trash we collected.
Then we had a fun outing to McDonald's for an ice cream treat. Nice job today!

Erika is wearing another dress handed down from Alexa.
It's teacher appreciation week and Alexa wanted to bring her teacher a flower. She decorated a little bucket and we dug up some beautiful volunteer flowers out of our mulch bed.
I took this picture of Alexa walking to the bus stop because her hair was so red and beautiful in the sunlight. Wow!
Waiting for the bus- hopefully the flower survives the ride.
Tysen and Bowen love putting puzzles together. Bowen is much better at it than Tysen.
Big girl!

There was a culture fest at the K-1 school last weekend. Alexa and Gavin proudly showed off their featured artwork.
