Snuggle time

Alexa and Bowen are snuggling on the couch while I clean up the breakfast mess. Bowen loves being around his siblings and it's nice that I can trust Alexa to hold on to him and not let him roll off the couch.

Bike

Daddy finally got his new road bike this past weekend. He's been wanting it for the longest time.

This is what I came up with today. The kids are loving this food creativity, but I may enjoy it just as much as they do!

Tropical Snack

I got creative with the kids' snack today. I made a palm tree in sand from kiwi, banana, and mandarin oranges. The kids loved it and ate the "sand" first. They are expecting something equally as fun tomorrow. I'll have to think of something even better!

Rainy day

It was gloomy and drizzly all day, but that didn't stop us from getting some fresh air! The kids had fun playing with sidewalk chalk on our front porch. Bowen even seemed to enjoy watching them.

Family Portraits

We had our first professional portraits taken since we became a family of six. I am excited to update the frames around the house to include Baby Bowen.

Abby and Ben

On our way to Wisconsin for Matt's triathlon, we stopped and stayed with some family that lives near Chicago. We had a wonderful time with the Grafe family and enjoyed seeing their new beautiful home. This was the first time that the kids have gotten to meet their cousins, Abby and Ben. Abby and Ben were great with the kids and took over as soon as we arrived so that Matt and I could relax. It was heavenly! When they found out how much Gavin loves trains, they took the kids on a short walk to see an actual train go by. The kids loved that! I wish that we didn't live so far from them, we would be hiring them to baby-sit all the time.

Ben was so nice to endure several episodes of Caillou because that's what Alexa and Gavin picked.

Ironman 70.3

Matthew competed in Ironman 70.3 in Racine, Wisconsin this past weekend.

The race consisted of a 1.2 mile swim along North Beach in Lake Michigan, followed by a 56 mile bike course through the countryside of Racine County, and then a half marathon 13.1 mile run through the Racine Zoo and along the Lake Michigan coastline.

Our good friend Travis and his brother also competed.

All the kids were there to cheer for Daddy (but mostly to play in the sand).
