Tysen had another appointment with the pediatrician this morning. They wanted to do a follow up check since he was a little jaundiced at the last visit. He weighed in today at 9 lbs 7 oz! That's a 9 oz weight gain in 1 week! The doctor told me that they like to see infants gain 2-4 oz in a week so he's an overachiever already! I had to take Tysen's diaper off while they weighed him and as soon as I did, he started peeing everywhere! He liked looking at himself in the mirror while we were waiting to be seen. His jaundice has cleared up and they we impressed with his head control.

Alexa likes talking to her baby brother.

Looking cute in his new outfit from Grandma Karla.

Gavin likes to hold his baby brother.

Kisses!

Gavin's such a happy little guy.

Our first outing as a family of 5 was on Christmas morning. We took Tysen to church for the very first time. Matthew and I were nervous about how this would work because Alexa and Gavin give us enough trouble. Within the first 5 minutes of us getting there, Gavin had a meltdown and Matthew had to take him to the cry room. That left me with Alexa and Tysen, who was sleeping in his car seat. It was going pretty well until Alexa announced that she had to go potty. I had to take Tysen out of his car seat. Luckily, he didn't wake up. I ended up passing Tysen off to Matthew in the cry room on our way to the bathroom. When we came back, Gavin had settled down and we all returned to our pew. All three kids were fairly good for the rest of the service. Matthew and I were feeling pretty proud on our way out of church. Tysen got tons of attention in church. Everybody thought he was pretty cute! The picture above is what he wore to church for the first time.
Our first outing to church went so well that we decided to try and find a place to eat lunch. That wasn't easy since it was Christmas and most all places were closed. We ended up finding a place called the 94th Aero Squandron. They had a very nice buffet (buffets are excellent for kids because you don't have to wait for the food to be served and you can get them a large variety of choices). Tysen continued to sleep through lunch and Alexa and Gavin behaved themselves and ate really well. The kids were free, too, so that was a bonus! It was a nice lunch, but it did make me feel a little homesick and lonely. We were the only young family in the restaurant with children. I wish that we could have spent Christmas with our families.

This morning while I was nursing Tysen, I looked over at Gavin and noticed that he was trying to wear Mr. Potato Head's eye glasses! He looked so silly that I hollered at Matthew to grab the camera.

Tysen is hanging out in the bathroom while I take a shower. He loves the sound of running water. It wasn't long before he was fast asleep.

Alexa and Gavin are giving Gabbi some love.

His outfit says "01 with the ladies!"

His hand got too close to his mouth and he got excited thinking it was food!

The kids got these adorable towels for Christmas.

Tysen has one, too, but it is way too large for him right now! His is a yellow duckie.

Alexa looks so cute in her new pajamas from her cousin, Masen.

Merry Christmas 2010

The kids are coming down the stairs on Christmas morning to see if Santa came to our house. As you can see, Alexa could hardly wait and was trying to pull Daddy down faster than Gavin could walk!

There's Gavin!

Alexa said, "Wow!" when she saw all the toys and presents. Then she said, "Where's my lollipop?" All she wanted this year for Christmas was a big lollipop. She wrote a letter to Santa earlier this week asking for a lollipop. We mailed it to the North Pole.

Gavin went straight to the basketball hoop and started shooting hoops.

Aunt Tianna sent this football tent for Gavin.

Santa must have received her letter! She found the big lollipop in her stocking! She was so happy! She was giving it hugs.

Gavin got some new football slippers.

We had quite the mess!

Santa also brought Alexa an easel.

Once we were done opening presents and had eaten lunch, the kids took a bath and we let them have their lollipops in the tub. I didn't want a sticky mess all over the house!

It's amazing how out of all the new toys Alexa got today, her favorite was a lollipop. Wouldn't it be nice if she was always this easy to please?

It's a good thing they are in the tub!

Grandma has to leave today. We are so happy that she was here for our Christmas. It's been so nice having an extra set of hands this first week with the new baby. It's made me happy that Grandma was able to give the older kids extra attention so that they didn't feel left out because Tysen needs so much attention right now.

Alexa put her new puzzle together.

This video shows our little pro bowler. Gavin received this cute bowling set from Grandpa and Grandma McGrew.
