Air Show!

Alexa and Gavin went to their first air show at Offutt Air Force Base. Grandad Briggs was our tour guide because he knows everything about all the planes. Gavin loved watching and pointing at the planes in the air. Alexa thought they were too loud! Other than it being really hot, it was a fun afternoon!

Look at that face- he's not scared!

Alexa kept her hands over her ears for most of the day. I wish that she would have left her ear plugs in, but she kept pulling them out.

Taking a break in the shade

Alexa toured several planes with Grandpa McGrew.

8/27/2010 Spending time with Grandparents

Grandad Briggs with all his grandchildren, including Alexa and Gavin's newest cousin. Dezirae Dawn is 3 weeks old.

Alexa loved helping Grandma Briggs make supper. She helped snap the green beans.

Alexa loves to feed the gold fish with Grandpa McGrew.

8/26/2010 Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge

We walked across the Bob Kerrey Pedestrian Bridge for the first time. It was under construction when we moved to Ohio so we were excited to experience walking across the Missouri River. The bridge connects downtown Omaha, NE with Council Bluffs, IA.

The state line

Although she looks like she is in pain, she's just being silly!

On the Nebraska side, they had a water fountain park for the kids.

They got so much exercise running from fountain to fountain, trying to catch the water!

We didn't realize that there was a water park or we would have brought their swimsuits! At least we had a clean, dry set of clothes for the ride home.
Alexa put her toy car on the fountain and waited for the water to blast it up in the air!

8/26/2010 Memorial Park

We met up with our good friends Daniel and Andrea for a picnic at Memorial Park. The kids had a blast on the playground and we are still finding sand that they brought home in their clothes and shoes!

8/26/2010 Creighton University

While in Nebraska during our vacation, we stopped at Creighton to walk around campus. It was fun to show the kids where we went to college and also where we met each other. They just wanted to play in the water, though!

This is beautiful St. John's Church where Matthew and I were married. This is also where Alexa and Gavin were baptized as newborns. While we were walking around, we ran into Father Schlegel and had a nice chat with him. He is the president of Creighton and also the priest that married us. It was great to see him again and we were thrilled that he remembered us.

A view down the new brick mall with Creighton University Medical Center in the background.

The flowers and landscaping around campus were just gorgeous.

This is where most of my pharmacy classes were. I spent a great deal of time in this building!

8/21/2010

Alexa and Cousin Masen had a slumber party at Grandma's house. Alexa was so excited to share her pajamas with Masen so that they could dress up like Buzz Lightyear and Woody.

Big hugs! Alexa and Masen get along so well. It is really cute to watch them play.

8/19/2010

We went to visit Great-Grandma and Grandpa Morse in Emerson.

Alexa has missed her great-grandparents!

Great-Grandpa and Grandma are in the process of moving so this may be the last of our memories in this adorable house.

Great-Grandpa was just finishing up mowing the yard and the kids were very excited to go for a ride. Alexa kept calling it a tractor!

8/08/2010

We took the kids to the beach on Sunday afternoon. They had a blast playing in the sand. They enjoyed the water, too, but much preferred getting dirty in the sand!

Playing with her boats

Gavin liked splashing in this water-filled hole.

Alexa couldn't believe how many rocks she found!

Gavin and Mommy waded out into deeper water. The water was surprisingly warm.
