Tysen's boo-boo

Running through the kitchen, tripped, rammed his head into the corner of the wall....
I showed this picture to 3 of my RN friends, they all agreed that he needed stitches. I took him to Children's urgent care. They explained that they don't do stitches in the urgent care, but they offered to have a nurse take a look to see if it actually needed stitches or not. She looked and right away said, "Sorry, Mom. Yes, he needs stitches." And they sent us on to the ER.
The nurse in the ER gave him Tylenol and made sure he was extra comfy. He enjoyed some apple juice while watching Animal Planet. Everyone that encountered Tysen thought he was a really cool kid.
The resident physician saw Tysen first. He said it wasn't too bad, but he would like to put 2 stitches in. First the attending physician had to see him. So we waited at least another hour. Finally he came in, took a quick look, and said, "Let's put Neosporin on it and you can go home!"  So finally at 2am we got home. That was an expensive dose of OTC antibiotic ointment.

New school tour

Alexa and Gavin will be starting first grade and kindergarten at a new school this fall. There was a welcome tour for the kids last week. We really enjoyed it and are excited for our move.

They especially loved the playground!
Gavin scored on his first shot!

Matthew's Graduation Day

Daddy's getting ready to leave for the graduation ceremony. He had to be there a little earlier than us so he drove separate.
Alexa likes Daddy's hat.
The graduation was held in the football stadium. It was a long walk and lots of stairs before we found seats. I was exhausted! I was glad I didn't go into labor.

I was so thankful that Matt's parents were there to help me with the kids.
It was a beautiful sunny but cool day.

I brought snacks for the kids. Snacks are always a good idea!
We were seated so far away that it was hard to see the stage, but we had a great view on the big screen. The PhD grads were the only ones to have their names announced.
There's our graduate!  We are so proud.
The kids were very excited to see Daddy.
This is Matt's advisor, Laura.

Matt started this PhD journey six years ago, shortly after we were married before we had kids. A lot has changed! We will be welcoming baby #5 in just a few weeks.
The long walk back to our van. The kids were happy to not be sitting any more.
Bowen found a comfy ride on Grandad's shoulders.
Matt's graduation gift- a new grill!
We had a yummy feast that night.
Chicken, corn on the cob, baked potatoes, steamed broccoli and asparagus, salmon, and kabobs
Congratulations, Doctor Doctor Briggs :)
