Baby's First Thanksgiving

Since I have to work on Christmas this year, we will not be able to spend Christmas with our families in Iowa and Nebraska. My mom decided celebrate Christmas on Saturday and spoiled her grandkids with way too many new toys!

Richard and baby Hudson (Alexa and Gavin's newest cousin)

Alexa is helping Gavin unwrap his new dump truck.

Gavin figured out how to unwrap, too!

Gavin's adorable Superman Build-A-Bear.

Look at those 3 teeth! He's got 2 more just breaking through the gums so he'll have 5 teeth total in about a week.

Alexa loves her new Ernie doll! She was so excited! She looked at him and said, "Where's Bert?"

That's my mom's golden doodle, Kaylee-dog.

Alexa and her cousin Masen are still opening gifts!

Wow! A new Cabbage Patch Kid! I had a ton of these when I was a kid. It's amazing to me to see Alexa starting to like to play with the same toys I remember growing up with.

Since Alexa is potty-trained now, my mom took the doll's diaper off and put big-girl panties on her so that they could be matching!

Aunt Kara bought the kids really nice books.

Alexa and Masen got along really well and shared their toys better than most kids their age! We were proud of them.

Alexa loves dogs!

They are waiting and watching for the rest of our guests to arrive for Thanksgiving lunch.

My mom really surprised Alexa, Gavin, and Masen with this new toy! Luckily this toy stays at Grandma's house! There was no way it was going to fit in our car, especially with all the other stuff she got them!

Grandma loves toys just as much as the kids do!

Masen didn't really want Alexa to ride the horse at the same time.

Our own little drummer boy!

We went outside to enjoy the beautiful weather. It's unusual for the weather to be so nice at the end of November.

My cousin, Daniel, came over for lunch and brought his two kids. This is Landon, he just turned a year old in October.

Today is my mom's 50th birthday, too! We had a busy day celebrating her birthday, Christmas, and Thanksgiving all in one day! We had to make the most of the short amount of time we were able to be there.

This is a cute video of my nephew, Masen, eating Cheetos. I think the dog would really love to eat one, too!

Instead of going shopping on black Friday, Christina, Eric, Diana, and I went to Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo with Alexa and Gavin. It was a beautiful day to be at the zoo! It was sunny and 60 degrees, plus we loved that there were no crowds! We were able to walk around and see all the animals that we wanted to without having to wait in line.

She loves penguins!

This is the neatest bubble in the penguin area. Alexa was able to watch them swimming all around her! It was almost as if she was in the tank with them!

He loves the aquarium!

Gavin especially loved watching this orange fish. Check out the video below!
Gavin and Alexa enjoyed watching the penguins with their aunts and Eric.

Alexa said, "Wake up!" to the sleeping black bear.

The carousel was Alexa's favorite! We could hear her laughing all the way around!
Gavin is excited to see Grandad Briggs.
