Burning off energy

My boys had fun today at the bouncy houses. They were exhausted and sweaty after 2 hours!

I had a hard time getting them to stop bouncing long enough for me to take some pictures!

Past week update

Summer is coming to an end soon, but it was still warm enough this evening for the kids to have fun with their sprinkler. Tysen was taking an extra long nap so he missed out this time. Bowen usually isn't a big fan of the water so I didn't even bother with putting a swim diaper or swim suit on him. Of course, then he surprised me by having a blast and getting soaked!

Silly Baby Bowen!

The kids got a new movie for Family Movie Night. We watched "Epic."
Just after taking Alexa to the bus stop, the boys and I getting ready to start our day
Ended up at the mall and I rewarded their good behavior by letting them play at the indoor play area. Bowen is getting so big and brave! I love watching him play with the big kids.

Unfortunately, I suddenly noticed that Tysen had a nice wide open gash across his nose. I had a feeling he needed stitches or skin glue.
Tysen got his skin glued back together at the pediatrician's office. They took great care of us. Their office had actually been closed over the lunch hour, but they let us in and I had 4 healthcare workers fixing Tysen up immediately. By far my best experience there yet! Tysen was so tough, he never even cried. Not when the injury occurred or during the gluing procedure. He's probably going to have a scar there, but gluing the wound tightly together should help minimize that and also seals it to keep out bacteria.
What a day! There's always something with 3 boys :)

Horseback Riding

Now that Alexa has started school and I work the evening shift, we don't get much time together anymore. I've decided that we need to have Mommy & Alexa special time every weekend.  Today was a blast.  I took her horseback riding for the first time.  Alexa loves horses so she was very excited.  My friend Christin invited us out to her farm and gave Alexa a riding lesson on her pony, Slick.  The pony was named Slick when she bought him as a young child.  Now, she thinks the name Norman would be much more fitting.  Slick is an 18 year old quarter horse and he was very sweet and gentle.  Christin warned us that when we got him out, he'd just try eating as much grass as he could, and she was right!  He loves to eat!

Alexa loved brushing the pony.

Before she rode the pony, Christin showed Alexa how to clean his shoes.

Just got the saddle on
Look at Slick's face! He sees that apple and he wants it now!!!

Alexa did great! She was not scared at all and immediately started trying to steer the pony.

Alexa is one happy girl! She is loving this!

She loves him!

After riding him, Alexa thought that he needed a bath.  Slick was very cooperative and allowed Alexa to hose him down.

Are these just the cutest little pink cowgirl boots you've ever seen?

Then she had to brush the clean horse again while saying goodbye.

Guess what the nice and clean pony did as soon as he got back inside his fence?  He got down and rolled around in the dirt! It was so funny!  I guess he just didn't want to be that clean.

Thank you, Christin, for a wonderful morning and fantastic memories!  I hope we can come back soon to visit Slick!

The Rest of Mommy & Alexa Day

After horseback riding, we were hungry.  I told Alexa that she could pick the restaurant, but she only insisted on pizza.  I took her to Eagles Pizza in New Albany because I think that they have the best taco pizza ever.  It was delicious.
It was really special for just Alexa and I to go out to eat because we rarely ever do that.

After lunch, Alexa picked another favorite, Build-A-Bear.  She choose a My Little Pony stuffed toy named Rainbow Dash.

Then we visited the American Girl store.  Alexa liked looking at the horses, but really wasn't interested in the dolls yet.  She does love the fountain outside, though!

Next we went to a candy factory.  Out of the hundreds of candy options, she chose a regular old candy necklace.  She cracks me up!

Then we went sailing, sort of!

Just as we were returning our sailboat, the trolley stopped in front of us to welcome on passengers.  We got on without even knowing where it would take us.  It was really fun and ended up just driving all around Easton.  Alexa and I enjoyed our ride.  Alexa liked waving to everyone she saw.
