Tysen had a scheduled appointment for his 18 month checkup this morning. I have been worried about it for several weeks because I knew I would have to bring all the children along since we no longer use daycare. I planned for it, I had the diaper bag ready the night before and made sure I got up plenty early to get them all ready on time. When I went into Alexa's room to wake her up, I was shocked to see her eyes. They were full of yellow drainage. At first I was discouraged, but then decided that if it was going to happen, at least we were going to the pediatrician anyways! The morning went smoothly other than that and we actually arrived 20 minutes early for our appointment. Alexa, Gavin, and Tysen played quietly in the waiting room while Bowen nursed. I was hoping that he would fall asleep, but no such luck. The appointment went well and I was so proud of the kiddos. The doctor had a student with him today and they both made comments about how good the whole crew was, especially for being confined to such a small room for so long. When he was done with Tysen's exam, he asked if I had any concerns. I mentioned how Alexa's eyes had looked that morning and how I worried that all the kids would get pink eye. He gave Alexa a quick exam and sent us on our way with a prescription for an antibiotic eye drop with refills in case the others get it too. I love him! He was probably feeling bad for me since I really had my hands full and didn't want me to have to come back.
Here are Tysen's stats:
Weight 26 lbs 3 oz (75%)
Height 33 1/4 inches (75%)
Head circumference (90%)
He received two vaccinations today: polio and hepatitis A
Waiting for the doctor
I love how if you look close enough, you can see Bowen smiling at his brothers and sister in the mirror.
