4/08/2012 Easter at the Briggs House!

Good morning, Sunshine!

Alexa and Gavin enjoyed dying Easter eggs on Saturday afternoon with Grandma Briggs.
Does he look happy, or what?
Alexa is waiting patiently for the eggs to dye brighter shades.
Mr. Tysen is doing a good job of supervising!
The Easter Bunny came to the Briggs house! He left a trail of carrots leading from the kids' rooms to where he left all the Easter baskets in Mommy and Daddy's room. It was so adorable to hear Gavin and Alexa discussing the carrots when they woke up this morning. They were very concerned! They went and woke up Grandma Briggs and I could hear them asking her why there were carrots on the rug. Then Alexa realized that it was a trail and she came running into our room! The excitement on their faces was priceless!
(Matt thought I was a little bit nuts the night before as I was tossing carrots down the hallway. I told him that I could use chocolate malt balls instead! Eww! I half expected Gabbi to eat the carrots during the night, but she left them alone.)
Gavin loves his candy stick with a spinning light up end. His bed head is cracking me up!

The kids got their own suitcases! They will come in handy with all the traveling we will be doing this summer. Baby Bowen didn't get a suitcase because the Easter Bunny didn't know if he was going to be a boy or a girl. His Easter basket is on top of the hope chest so he wasn't forgotten.
Excited about stickers
Tysen is trying to run off with all the candy!
Alexa loves everything Hello Kitty!
New shades!
He didn't quite get the ear piece over his ear, but he still looks pretty cool!
She begged me to let her wear these to church! (She didn't win.)
Baby Bowen was relaxing on our bed while the older kids played with their new toys.
I love these guys so much!

The kids' adorable luggage
Mommy stayed home this morning with Tysen and Bowen while Daddy, Grandma, Alexa, and Gavin went to Easter Mass. We decided that since Bowen is still less than a week old that it wouldn't be a good idea to expose him to such a large crowd. We certainly don't want him to get sick. Our church is really large and I'm sure there were thousands in attendance. Tysen could have gone, but he's such a handful in church that it was just easier on Daddy for him to stay with me. I enjoyed some alone time with my little guys.
Matt and I are in shock by how big Tysen seemed to get as soon as Bowen was born. Now that we are getting adjusted to having an itty bitty newborn, Tysen seems like a monster baby!
Bunny Butt!

We had a wonderful time this afternoon. Some friends and family joined us for a fabulous meal.
Gavin just woke up from his nap and he was excited to see Aunt Megan.
Uncle Brian brought his rotisserie machine to cook our Easter ham. It was delicious!
The guys hanging out in the kitchen watching the meat cook.
Gavin and Tysen enjoyed a Peep while they waited for the food to finish.

This picture of John holding the sippy cup cracks me up! Gavin is hanging out with the guys watching golf on television.
Aunt Megan feeding Bowen a bottle. This is only the second time we've tried the bottle, but he's doing pretty well with it.
Baby Bowen's First Easter
Look at those sideburns! I can't believe how much hair this baby has!
He was an angel and slept through the entire meal so that Mommy could eat.
The kids showing off their Easter clothes.

They are so excited for the egg hunt that they can hardly sit still for a picture.
Silly boy!
Now Alexa has to do it, too.

Happy Easter from the Briggs Family!
The egg hunt in our backyard.

After the egg hunt, the kids enjoyed some more time outdoors playing with bubbles and sidewalk chalk.

So pretty
Just before bedtime, Alexa realized that she didn't get to eat a Peep. She had taken a longer nap than the boys so she had missed our earlier. (Plus I think she was stalling!) I was a bad mommy and let her and Gavin eat a Peep at 10pm. (I did brush their teeth so it's not that bad, right?)
Goodnight hugs for Grandma
