7/04/2010 Happy 4th of July!

Giving Gabbi some love

We planned a special outing for a Fourth of July celebration. We packed a picnic lunch and then went to Alum Creek and rented a pontoon boat. This was the kids' first boating experience and they loved it.

Went you gotta go...you gotta go! Glad we came prepared.

The kids liked "driving" the boat, too.

Alexa liked the boat to go fast- as fast as a pontoon will go!

What a wonderful evening!

On the way home, Daddy remembered that there was another fireworks show. We decided to go and it was so much fun.

This little boy isn't scared of fireworks or loud noises! He kept yelling, "Boom!" and then he'd scream and jump up and down.

Alexa and Gavin were having a blast playing with our cooler while we were getting ready to go to the lake. Alexa was giving Gavin a ride and they both thought it was hilarious.

We went to see Red, White, and Boom tonight! Due to the traffic, we decided to park at our friend's house and ride our bikes downtown. The police had the streets blocked off for cars so it was perfect for us. It was a really amazing experience to be approaching the fireworks by bike. The kids were in the buggy behind Matt. I could see Gavin pointing at the fireworks and Alexa was covering her ears.

This is how the kids looked once we stopped pedaling! They look a little concerned, but at least they weren't crying.

Our friend, John, playing with Gavin.

Our kids love John.

I actually shot this video while I was riding my bike. Sorry if it is a little bumpy, but it's the best I could do. I was following Matt and the kids and I almost felt like we were in a scene from some cheesy action movie where the city is being blown up. I almost expected to see Godzilla.

We purchased a bunch of safety lights for our bikes and the kids had a lot of fun playing with them.

The kids had a special Independence Day parade at daycare today and had instructions to wear their red, white, and blue! Alexa was very excited about it. She kept calling it a happy birthday party for America!

Gavin's class rode in the big buggy through the parade. His class made flags with their footprints in red, white, and blue paint.

I think Gavin is the happiest little boy at our daycare. He loves going there everyday, he runs to his teachers with hugs every morning, and he enjoys playing with his friends.

These are Alexa's teachers. Alexa's class made noise-makers with streamers for the parade.
