Our Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man Turns 4!

Happy 4th Birthday, Gavin!
It's the AMAZING Spider-Man!

Since Gavin's party was a few days before his actual birthday, we made sure to do something special on January 16th, too.  We started the day off with gymnastics class (which they love) and then went to Grater's for an ice cream treat.  (I like taking the kids there because they have a tasty frozen fruit puree that Tysen and Bowen can enjoy without feeling left out when Alexa and Gavin eat ice cream.)
Alexa tried to take some pictures of Bowen and me.
Since it was Gavin's birthday, all the kids wore Spider-Man clothing to make it special for Gavin.  Tysen and Bowen loved their strawberry & mango treat.
I love how Bowen saw this as an opportunity to grab the spoon while I wasn't looking and fling  frozen fruit all over me!
The birthday boy is having a great day!
The kids and I even stopped to sing "Happy Birthday" to him right in the middle of the mall.  The people walking by stopped to sing, too.
Alexa presented Gavin with his official birthday badge.

Wisconsin Dells

Last weekend I took Alexa and Gavin on a special little trip to Wisconsin Dells to visit our wonderful friends, the Obermire family.  It was a 10 hour drive, but Alexa and Gavin were great travelers and they were so excited to see Emme and go down the water slides.  We stayed at an indoor waterpark resort and had the best time.  (Matthew stayed home with Tysen and Bowen because they just aren't old enough to fully enjoy water slides yet!)
We arrived at the resort on Friday evening, but still had a few hours to enjoy the water park before it closed for the night.  The kids are so excited about the water slides that they can't hardly stand still for a picture!  They were also super glad to get out of the van!

Tired but happy kiddos!  We just finished our first night at the water park.  Now we are headed back to the room where Travis is making the best chili ever!

Day two

We climbed several flights of stairs about 20 times in a row because the kids loved all riding down together in the same raft in absolute darkness on this tunneled waterslide.  (Later that night Gavin cried because his calves were hurting him!  All those stairs gave us all a great work out.)

Travis and Kara recommended a great pizza place for lunch called Moose Jaw.  The pizza and beer bread  were so good.
