The Briggs family traveled to South Carolina this weekend to visit Matthew's grandmother, aunts, uncles, and cousins. Matthew and I found out that it is a much longer drive now that we have children. Alexa needed to stop nearly every 20 minutes to go potty. It was so frustrating to us because we wanted to keep driving, but she's just learned to let us know when she has to go to the bathroom so we couldn't just ignore her. After awhile, she did get smart enough to figure out that when she got bored and wanted out of her car seat, all she had to do was yell, "I got to go potty!" There were multiple times that we had stopped at a gas station for her to use the bathroom, only to have her telling us she needed to go again before we had even made it back to the interstate. Needless to say, this drive from Ohio to South Carolina should have taken about 7 hours. It took us twelve! It was a very nice trip, although very short. We wish we could have stayed longer but Matthew and I both had to get back to work on Monday. The picture above is Great-Grandma Briggs holding her only great-grandchildren.
