02/10/2011

I've been really busy! I've been helping Alexa and Gavin get their Valentine cards and candy ready for their daycare parties on Monday. I was trying to think of something cute to do for Tysen's class because you can't give candy to the babies! I decided to try and make bibs. I'm not very good with the sewing machine yet. I've only had it for a couple years and I'm all self-taught (trial and error!). I used a bib that we already had for the pattern and so that I would get the size right. I had a bunch of cute material in storage containers so I didn't have to go buy anything. The bibs are all really soft and they are reversible, too! The backs all have coordinating fabric. There are only 8 babies in Tysen's class, but I ended up making 17! Tysen gets all the extras for his Valentine's present.

Here's Tysen modeling one of the bibs. This one is a little bit big on him, but he's the smallest baby at daycare so I wanted them a little big.

When I got them done, I rolled them up and tied them with red or pink ribbon and added a Valentine card. Tysen's going to be the most popular baby in his room! Monday (Valentine's Day) is my first day back to work and also the kids' first day back to daycare since my maternity leave started 8 weeks ago.

This bib was one of my favorites. I hope that the other parents like them. They certainly aren't perfect, but I'm proud of how they turned out.

You should make and sell them on Etsy. I know you are already super busy but seriously, they are adorable. I know lots of people would want some. I do!
