11/08/2009

What a beautiful Sunday afternoon in Columbus today! The temperature reached nearly 70 degrees! We decided to take the kids swimming! Matthew has a gym membership at OSU and they have free weekend hours for family members so it was a fun, free activity for us all.
Gavin was smiling back at Alexa and I the whole way!

Alexa is very much into helping us do everything. It was very important that she got to push the button for the elevator.

She's very proud of herself!

I was trying so hard to get the kids to look at me for a picture, but there was no way that I could compete for their attention with all the action going on in the pool behind me!

This is the fourth time that we've taken Alexa swimming here before, but it was Gavin's first time. The water was cool at first but we quickly adapted to it.

Alexa had a hard time figuring out the steps. She couldn't perceive that there was another step to go. She kept reaching her foot out but didn't touch the ground.

Alexa went down the slide a few times.

My baby boy is getting so big!

Alexa had fun playing with some watering cans.

Gavin found a plastic boat to chew on. His top front teeth finally broke through the gums this week.

Even though Alexa has been potty-trained for a few months now, we really debated about whether or not to put a swim diaper on her. I finally decided not to. She used the toilet before we got in the water and again once we were done so I am confident that she didn't pee in the pool!

Gavin really loves the water. I really should look into getting both kids in swimming lessons. It's hard to do things like that when I am working full-time.

Alexa is eating an orange on the walk back to the car. We were all starving after spending a few hours at the pool.
