HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY,
GAVIN!
We can't believe how fast the year has flown by. We are so blessed and lucky to be Gavin's parents.

My mom, step dad Calvin, little sister Kara, and her boyfriend Jared, came to celebrate Gavin's birthday with us. Kara even helped me make Gavin's birthday cake. In the picture above, she is holding one of the three layers. The white and chocolate layers alternated so that when we cut the cake, it looked like a checker board. It turned out really great.

We decorated it like a baseball mitt with a cupcake baseball on top.

He was mesmerized by the flame.

Then he wanted to touch it.

Precious!

And then he flung cake crumbles from side to side until we took the tray away from him. He didn't actually eat much of the cake at all. He made a huge mess. At least we don't have carpet in the dining room! Usually we let the dog clean up after the kids, but we couldn't let her eat the chocolate.

Now we have to go upstairs and get cleaned up before opening presents.

Alexa loves Gavin's new penguin toy. It's like a miniature punching bag that has balls inside and it plays music and talks. It's really cute!

Penguin is wobbling back and forth.

We enjoyed having the Parker family over to celebrate with us. This is Gavin's friend, Wyatt.

Alexa's helping unwrap some more presents. Gavin got lots of other nice gifts including the movies "Cars" and "Madagascar," a train with building blocks, a new outfit, a stuffed turtle, and a hooded sweater.

A picture collage I put together for Gavin's first year. I had to turn off the flash because it kept reflecting off the glass.
