Alexa's third birthday is just around the corner, so this morning I took her to have her portraits taken. She was so cute and they took so many good pictures that I had a really hard time deciding which ones to buy! Enjoy!

10/13/2010 Dentist
Alexa had a dentist appointment today! She was such a good girl for the whole cleaning. She enjoyed having her teeth counted- all 20 of them! The dentist said that her teeth are beautiful. No signs of cavities!

Alexa is so silly!
She was such a good girl last weekend when we were out shopping that I let her get some new books. She got some Halloween books and two books about a new baby.
We are so proud of Gavin. He has been sleeping in his toddler bed every night. He falls asleep hugging his football.
When we tell him to go to bed, he runs into his room and crawls onto his bed all by himself. He doesn't even fuss when we turn off the light and shut the door.
His pajamas say "Major Cutie!"

10/05/2010 Columbus Zoo
I was lucky enough to get today off from work. Our friends Kara and Emme invited us to the zoo. What a great day to go! I've never been to the zoo when there was so few people there! No crowds at all- we practically had the zoo to ourselves. Although it was a little chilly, we completely missed the rain. The first sprinkles started falling just as we were getting in the car to leave.
Our first stop was at the new polar bear exhibit. There was an underwater viewing area and it was so cool to see the polar bears swimming just above us trying to catch fish.

After the playground we had a picnic lunch.
The petting zoo is always a hit.
The kids enjoyed brushing the goat's fur. The goat didn't even open his eyes!

10/03/2010 Swim Lessons!
Alexa and Gavin had their first swim lesson this afternoon! They will be taking lessons every Sunday afternoon for the next 7 weeks at OSU. Their class is for 18 months-3 years so luckily they are both in the same group. We did lots of fun stuff- singing songs and playing little games to get the kids comfortable and excited about being in the water. Alexa and Gavin did really well and loved the experience. I didn't get any pictures of the swim lessons because a parent has to be with the child at all times. I was Alexa's partner and Daddy was Gavin's. The pictures below were taken after lessons when we were just playing around in the pool.
After we showered and got dressed, we went to the gym and let the kids run around and chase basketballs.

Afterwards, we all went out for a nice supper at the Mongolian grill and then did some shopping. The kids were so exhausted once we got home. They went to bed early tonight!
