10/05/2010 Columbus Zoo

I was lucky enough to get today off from work. Our friends Kara and Emme invited us to the zoo. What a great day to go! I've never been to the zoo when there was so few people there! No crowds at all- we practically had the zoo to ourselves. Although it was a little chilly, we completely missed the rain. The first sprinkles started falling just as we were getting in the car to leave.
Our first stop was at the new polar bear exhibit. There was an underwater viewing area and it was so cool to see the polar bears swimming just above us trying to catch fish.

Alexa is loving the view!

Hugs for her little brother

Alexa, Gavin, Emme, and Kara waiting to see the polar bear again.

Outside the polar bear exhibit, they had an arctic playground for the kids.

After the playground we had a picnic lunch.

The petting zoo is always a hit.

The kids enjoyed brushing the goat's fur. The goat didn't even open his eyes!

The carousel is always their favorite.

Priceless!
