10/24/2010 Alexa and Gena's Birthdays!

Alexa wanted a "Toy Story" birthday cake.

Gavin liked wearing the party hat!

Alexa's friend, Emme, came to celebrate with us.

She was very excited about blowing out the candles this year!

It's kind of a tradition now that I get a pumpkin pie on my birthday (my favorite).

Gavin loved the birthday cake!

After cake, we put play clothes on the kids and let them paint pumpkins. Actually everybody painted one, including the adults. It was really fun. It wasn't as messy as it could have been. The paint was washable and once we were done, we put all the kids in the tub.

Gavin went to town on his pumpkin! He used lots of colors. He also painted the back of our chair.

All the pumpkins are now proudly on display on our front porch!

The kids are excited because we are getting ready to go pick out some pumpkins!

They love pumpkins!

They kept picking out all the ones with broken stems and bad spots! Alexa's favorite had weird bumps all over it! At least all the money we spent went to charity!

Gavin thought they were all balls and wanted to pick them up and throw them.

He wouldn't let us take this one away, not even once we were in the car.

10/23/2010 Boo at the Zoo!

The cutest little lion ever!

All their little tails are so cute!

Boo at the Zoo is a special Halloween event at the zoo. Kids come dressed in their costumes and there are treat stations where they can get candy. They also do some fun Halloween-themed activities with the animals. While we were at the petting zoo, they gave the goats a special pumpkin snack!

The goats enjoyed the pumpkin!

The lion needs a snack now!

We walked to the pond this morning to feed the ducks our leftover popcorn.

Alexa was very generous and shared all of the popcorn with the ducks. Gavin just kept eating the popcorn!
