The hospital that I work for throws a special "Breakfast with Santa" for children of employees every year. Alexa was so excited to see Santa. She talked about it the whole car ride there. She agreed to sit on his lap and tell him what she wanted for Christmas. Once we got there, she kept asking, "Where's Santa?" until we found him. She got a huge smile on her face. She watched him for a long time while we waited our turn in line. Once we put her on Santa's lap, she got very quiet and wouldn't really look at him. Santa asked her what she wanted and she only said, "Candy canes!" We weren't able to get very good pictures because Alexa was being shy and wouldn't look at the camera or smile and soon Gavin got scared and started fussing. After we ate, Alexa and I approached Santa again and this time she wasn't shy. She finally told Santa what she really wants for Christmas: a backpack and stickers! Santa asked her what color of backpack and she said, "A pink one!" She's noticed that the big kids at daycare have backpacks and she really looks up to them.
