My day off

I had to take Monday off work because Matt was out of town. It was wonderful to spend more time with Alexa. I wish I was home with my family every night.

I took them to the park because it was absolutely gorgeous and there just won't be many days left like this before winter arrives.

Alexa filled that whole bag with acorns so that she could bring them home and plant a forest of oak trees in our backyard!

Nature Hike

It was a gorgeous fall day to go exploring.
Bowen loved running with his big brothers!

Tysen found a hole in the tree and stuffed his acorns inside.

More Family Time (Labor Day weekend)

After Matt's triathlon, we drove to Omaha and met up with more of my family at the restaurant "Old Chicago."
The Girls: sister Kara, Grandma Morse, sister Tianna, Mom, Me, and Alexa in front
The Boys: Matthew & Bowen, Grandpa Morse & Tysen, Richard, Hudson & Masen, Calvin & Gavin, and Jared

The next day we spent time at the Briggs' house.  The kids had fun helping Grandma pick the vegetables.

Late Posting from Labor Day Weekend

On Labor Day weekend, we packed the family up and headed to Des Moines, Iowa.  Matthew had qualified for the Hy-Vee Triathlon National Championships with his finish time from the Giant Eagle Triathlon.  I was excited because my dad and Diane as well as Matt's parents, Jim & Sherry were meeting us in Des Moines and staying at the same hotel.  Jim also competed in the triathlon.
Spending some fun time in the pool with the kids

Eating breakfast in the hotel lobby the morning of the triathlon.  The start was delayed due to rain.
Alexa is giving her legs a rest while Grandpa helps us look for Matt and Jim.  We wanted to wish them luck before the start.

We found Matt testing out the water temperature.
This is Matt's age group getting ready to start.  There is a video at the bottom.
This is where the athletes exited the water and ran towards the transition area.
Grandma McGrew was able to get the kids cow bells.
Hurrying to cheer for Jim.
Matthew just finished!  He did great.
