Pot roast is Gavin's favorite meal.

He shoves handful after handful of meat into his mouth. It's tender enough that he's able to chew it easily without choking.

Did you notice how he devoured all the meat before touching the veggies?

Alexa is helping Daddy shovel the snow on our sidewalk.

Gavin loves these Greek cookies that Grandad made and sent to us.

Alexa is watching "Happy Feet" and she wanted all her stuffed animals to watch, too.

So this is how we started our Saturday morning....

Alexa woke up this morning around 7am and I took her to the bathroom. Then she went back to her room to play. I shut her door and went back to bed for a little bit more sleep. Her room has been childproofed so I figured she'd make a mess but at least she wouldn't get hurt if I wasn't watching her. Well, Matt and I woke up to the sound of her knocking on her bedroom door. We went to open her door only to discover that she'd locked herself in there. I used a bobby pin to unlock the door and then I opened her door. What I saw shocked me. I was speechless. Alexa was sitting on her bed, naked, and she said, "Mommy, get a washcloth! With soap on it!"

Well, I guess Alexa sound some Crayola finger paints in her closet. Apparently she was able to get the lid off the green container.

She even turned the bath water green and left a green ring around the tub once I drained the water!

I threw all the stuffed animals, bedding, and clothing in the washer and Daddy steam cleaned her carpet. Luckily all the green paint came out. I think we've learned our lesson. We won't be sleeping in next weekend!

We took the kids to have their pictures taken today. Since it was New Year's day, Matt and I both had the day off work and since the mall was open, it was a good time to get it done. Gavin's first birthday is just around the corner and we wanted to have his pictures back before his party. We were very proud of the kids. This was the best they have behaved at the portrait studio and we think we got some great pictures. Enjoy!

Gavin is growing up! He is officially off formula and bottles. Now he only drinks whole milk out of a sippy cup. It really helps speed things up in the morning when we are getting them ready for daycare and we love saving all that money!

We had a New Year's Eve party and invited our neighbors, the Sankey family. We had a great time eating pizza, watching football, playing Wii, and then finally watching the ball drop at midnight. Alexa and Gavin couldn't stay awake that long. They were both in bed before 10pm, but little Truitt was a trooper and stayed awake, although he was pretty tired!
